What about Medical Emergencies? Kids at Heart Staff will be onsite to help with minor emergencies. The camp doctor and a modern, full service medical center are located in Estes Park just 10 minutes away. All Camp Timberline staff are certified in standard First Aid, CPR, and some have Wilderness First Aid certification. What if we have Camper Medication(s)? They will be your responsibility to administer them. Please keep them in a secure location. What is the Statement of Health? All retreat members should be able to participate in physical activities at 9,400 feet. What is the food policy? One of the highlights of Camp Timberline is the food prepared by our head chef. We provide three nutritionally balanced meals each day - whether it is presented buffet style, family style or cookout style. Campers may not have any food in their cabins. This is very important to keep critters out of the cabins!! We will work with any camper who may be allergic to certain foods. Also due to small storage space and a seasonal food service team, Camp Timberline is able to provide some food substitutes for meals but participants will need to bring alternative options to meet dietary needs (containers cannot be greater than a 16-quart cooler / box due to space). Please let us know if you or your family has a food allergy that we need to be aware of. Will there be childcare available for my younger children? Since this is a family camp, we do not have dedicated staff members who will be providing childcare for younger children. It will be your responsibility to look after them while you stay at Camp Timberline. What if the weather is bad? We will be having Camp no matter what! We are blessed to have a lodge that is packed full with games, board games, and other activities to use during bad weather or down times. Please pack accordingly it will be chilly at night and warm during the day. What can we do if the line for the mountain adventures is way too long? We will have other activities available for you and your family to do. For example, you will have access to dodge ball, freesbee golf, basketball, tennis, hiking, and even a craft that you and your family can do together. Plus the main lodge will always be open for you and your family to enjoy.
